Our Projects
Aqualung is developing first of a kind non-pressurized gas separation membrane.
Aqualung have worked closely with end-users and specialist partners across our target markets to develop concepts and economics for both the direct capture equipment and the overall logistics, sequestration, and utilisation (where applicable).

ENERGY: Power, LNG, Refining & Petrochemical
Aqualung’s system is a cost-effective carbon capture solution even at small scale and low CO2 concentrations, such as gas fired boilers and gas turbines. Aqualung can provide decentralized solutions to meet the needs of large industrial complexes with multiple emission sources.
Our commercial pilot in Magnolia, Arkansas will demonstrate carbon capture at a small emitter. The unit will take 100% of the flue gas from a gas fired emission source. The overall aim of the project is to demonstrate capture as well as utilization of the captured CO2 into the battery industry.
Emissions Source: Gas Fired Reboiler
CO2 Concentration: 4.5%
Size of Pilot: 700 tonnes CO2 per Annum
Delivery of Pilot: Q3 2022

SEQUESTRATION: Onshore/Offshore Sequestration, Pipelines and CO2 Transportation
One of the key challenges in the carbon capture chain is the need to create a link between an emitter and a viable CO2-sink. Where possible, new CO2-volumes should tap into existing infrastructure to minimize new capital investments. Development of new carbon capture clusters need to begin with an analysis of the logistics and volumes involved.
Aqualung is seeking to provide a full value chain solution for our customers. We have formed strong partnerships with sequestration providers, CO2 pipeline operators and CO2 tankers to cover every mode of CO2 removal. Our next phase is to jointly identify opportunities to develop new CO2-capture clusters across the US and Europe, and to ensure that the gas can be transported safely and cost-effectively.
Sequestration Site: Onshore, USA
Emission Source: Petrochemical facility with numerous natural gas emission sources
CO2 Concentration: 6%
Size of Proposed Unit: 200,000 tonnes of CO2 per year
Desired CO2 purity: 99%
Timeline: Delivery by 2025

Shipping and Transportation
With 5% of the footprint of an amine column, the Aqualung system can fit into existing plants where space is at a premium and without major modifications to the exhaust structure.
Aqualung is currently constructing a R&D test rig on a 250 kW diesel engine. Aqualung is working with Marine Classification Societies to complete approvals for onboard installation.
Emission Source: Diesel Engine
CO2 Concentration: 11%
Pilot Size: 130 tonnes of CO2 per year
Delivery of Pilot: Q2 2022

Industrial: Cement, Lime, Pulp & Paper, Mining & Metals
Aqualung’s patented membrane technology has been proven at two cement installations, where the unit operated above targeted goals.
The next phase of the technology scale up will deliver a pilot plant at a cement facility to demonstrate higher capacity for the unit.
Emission Source: Cement Kiln
CO2 Concentration: 11%
Size of Proposed Pilot: 20,000 tonnes of CO2 per year
Delivery of Pilot: Q3 2023
